Emergency Plumbing

An emergency plumbing situation is any plumbing problem that poses an immediate risk to the client's home, safety, or property, requiring immediate attention to prevent further damage or harm. Here's a more detailed breakdown: What constitutes a plumbing emergency?

  • Significant Water Damage: Any situation where water is flowing uncontrollably or accumulating rapidly, potentially causing flooding or damage to walls, floors, or fixtures.

  • Burst Pipes: A broken water supply pipe can release large amounts of water, leading to rapid water damage.

  • Sewage Backups: A clogged sewer line or drain backup can lead to the release of untreated wastewater, posing a health hazard and causing significant damage.

  • Gas Leaks: A gas leak is a serious safety hazard that requires immediate attention and professional intervention.

  • Water Heater Malfunction: A malfunctioning water heater, especially if leaking or causing a fire hazard, needs immediate attention.

  • Lack of Water or Low Pressure: A sudden and unexplained lack of water or significantly low water pressure can indicate a serious plumbing issue.

  • Overflowing Toilets: A toilet that is overflowing or running continuously can lead to water damage and should be addressed promptly.

  • Sump Pump Failure: If your sump pump fails, water can accumulate in your basement or crawl space, potentially causing significant damage

  • Sagging Ceilings: Sagging ceilings can be a sign of water damage from a leak that needs to be addressed.

  • Hidden Leaks: Running water from unknown sources or a sudden increase in water consumption without a clear explanation could indicate a hidden leak that needs to be addressed.  (We do not currently offer below ground leak detection services.)

When to call an emergency plumber:

  • If the client experiences any of the situations listed above.

  • If the client is unsure whether they are dealing with a plumbing emergency, be on the safe side of safety and call a plumber, especially if the plumbing issue involves gas or water.

  • If the client is unable to stop the flow of water or address the problem yourself.

  • If the client is unsure how to fix a running toilet or do not have the necessary tools, it is best to call an emergency plumbing service.
